Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: How to Find the Secret Egg
Toby Fox hid another secret Egg in Chapter 5, and tracking it down is going to test your patience with a very annoying puzzle in the wheat fields.
The secret Eggs have been a recurring nightmare for completionists throughout every chapter of Deltarune. They are completely optional, incredibly easy to miss, and buried behind some of the most obscure logic in the game. You are practically guaranteed to walk right past this one if you do not know exactly where to look.
Before you start tearing up the map, you need to understand that grabbing this Egg has consequences. Collecting it actually locks you out of certain trophies on your save file. If you are a strict achievement hunter, you might want to skip this entirely or grab it on a backup save.

Prerequisites and Location Data
You can’t just walk into the Egg room from the start of the chapter. You have to secure a specific key item and reach a late game area first.
Navigating the Wheat Field
Once you have the Petal Feather and make your way to the Cliffs, stop at the shop and head directly to the right. You will step into a large wheat field populated with a few standard enemies. Clear them out so you have room to breathe.
Next, you have to sprint through a Torii Gate while dodging projectiles from a very annoying flying enemy. Make it to the other side safely, and the real puzzle begins. You need to run back and forth through the two Torii Gates, destroying every single piece of wheat in the area.
After you clear the field, a stubborn piece of wheat will pop up that simply refuses to stay down. Keep smashing this specific block over and over again. Eventually, a blue balloon pops out of it and floats away to the left. Follow that balloon back exactly the way you came to enter a brand new hidden room.
The Dog and the Mystery Man
Inside this new room, you will find a familiar looking dog floating around attached to a balloon.
The dog floats across the room to pollinate a specific set of flowers. Watch him very closely. You have to interact with the flowers in the exact same order he indicates before he finishes pollinating them. If you mess up the sequence, you will have to reset.
Nail the order perfectly, and a Watering Can spawns right in the middle of the room. Grab the can and quickly outrun the dog to your left. Use the can to create a new path leading into the final chamber.
Follow this new route and you will end up in a quiet room with a large tree. The mysterious forgotten man is standing right behind it. Walk up, exhaust all of his dialogue options, and he will hand over the secret Chapter 5 Egg. Now you just have to figure out what you are actually supposed to do with it.
