Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Artbook Leak Teases New Classes
A rogue artbook page just hit the internet, proving you will be throwing literal hands in your next tactical RPG campaign.
You always know a Nintendo release is getting close when the print materials start escaping the warehouse. The folks over at Famiboards and the Fire Emblem Discord managed to dig up a snapshot of what appears to be the official artbook for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. The leak eventually made its way to ResetEra, sparking a fresh wave of forensic analysis from internet sleuths. Faking a physical, printed proof sheet for a rumor this minor would be a bizarre use of time. This one feels incredibly credible.
Unpacking the Leaked Spread
I took a close look at the leaked image. While it's just a single spread, it gives you some solid breadcrumbs to follow. The page is prominently numbered 121 and features "NINTENDO OF AMERICA" printed along the bind margins. It looks exactly like a sheet fresh off a commercial proofing press.
The real meat of the leak is the character art. The artwork displays distinct male and female character designs for the Brigand class. These match the outfits you can see on some generic units in a previous trailer.
The most interesting addition is a completely new class called the Pugilist. This appears to be an all-gender brawler class. That's a welcome change from the male-only restriction placed on brawlers back in Three Houses. Now you can build your entire frontline out of characters who prefer punching steel-clad knights with their bare fists.
Reading the Release Calendar
Seeing physical, translated materials usually means a game is entirely content complete and just waiting for its turn on the launch schedule.
Based on the current chatter, you probably shouldn't expect Fortune's Weave to drop tomorrow. The forum consensus points to Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Paradise eating up the July release slots. That leaves a neat little opening in August or September for you to sink your teeth into a new strategy campaign.
It reminds me of when the Tears of the Kingdom collector's edition artbook leaked early. That leak gave away just enough info to get you theory-crafting your unit builds without spoiling the whole plot. I'll keep an eye out for an official date, which could drop as soon as the second week of June.
