Epic Games added a premium currency to its latest management simulator without bothering to explain how to earn it.
Staring at an empty Nova Shop balance is frustrating when the game hides the acquisition methods. You have exactly two ways to generate Nova Crystals. One requires patience, while the other demands you wipe out your factory progress. I spent some time testing the payout loops to figure out the most efficient way to fund a workshop.
The Slow Method: Daily Quests
The safest route to earning crystals requires logging in every day. Your quest board generates a single objective daily that pays out exactly one Nova Crystal.
Earning a single crystal sounds like a terrible return on your time, but it actually unlocks meaningful stat bumps during your early runs. You can't stack these daily objectives or save them up for the weekend. I make it a habit to check the board the second I log in, clearing the crystal target right away to secure those early upgrades.
The Fast Method: Super Rebirths
If you want to actually farm this currency, you need to rely on the Super Rebirth mechanic. The game locks this feature until you reach Rebirth 12.
When you hit level 12, take a close look at the scaling mechanics rather than instantly pressing the reset button. The higher your level when you activate the wipe, the better your payout scales. Pushing your factory to the current maximum cap of Rebirth 23 yields the best return for your invested time.
Wiping your progress always feels risky, but mode developer BlazingFrenzy confirmed that all Super Rebirth rewards are entirely permanent. Your crystals carry over safely through the reset, allowing you to build a reliable reserve.
Avoiding Bad Investments In The Nova Shop
Once you have a steady income, spending your currency in the wrong categories will cripple your production rate. The Nova Shop separates its inventory into four distinct sections.
Cosmetic Assets offer base paint colors and accessories that provide zero gameplay benefits. I strongly suggest ignoring this tab completely during your first few runs. Paint jobs look nice, but they don't speed up your resource gathering.
You want to put your money directly into Core Upgrades and Workshop Improvements. Buying max health, damage output, movement speed, and flawless charm boosts raises your multipliers directly. Picking up an extra lounge slot or activating Sandcrawler Rebirth alerts keeps your factory running efficiently.
The only exception to the cosmetic rule sits in the Iconic Droids tab. If you see a special unit like BB-8 or Mister Bones appear from a limited event, buy it. These specific character drops carry unique abilities that you can't unlock through standard gameplay loops.
