High on Life 2 B.A.L.L. Gun Guide: All B.A.L.L. Guy Locations

There's an empty fish tank sitting in your Quarters with a useless gun chassis on top of it, and filling it back up takes a rhythm game, a taxi service, and a fishing rod.

Anyone who ran through the High on Knife DLC in the first game already knows what the B.A.L.L. Gun is capable of. A pinball-launching weapon that turns hallways into a slaughterhouse. Unlike every other Gatlian in High on Life 2, though, nobody just hands this one to you. It's the only fully optional weapon in the game, and getting it running means tracking down three separate alien creatures called B.A.L.L. Guys scattered across the galaxy. Here's exactly where to find them and what each one demands.

What You Need Before You Start

Don't go chasing these guys the moment you boot up a new save. Two of the three locations are locked behind Gatlians you only get through story progress, so jumping the gun just wastes your time.

Finish the Finance Wiz James Stevenson bounty first to unlock Bowie, since you'll need his trick shot to open a door later. You'll also need Travis, which means wrapping up the Larry Pinkstock murder mystery, because his levitation ability is required to lift a boat out of the water. Once both of those chatty firearms are in your inventory, you're set.

B.A.L.L. Guy 1: The Nightclub Rhythm Battle

Head to Pinkline Harbor and make your way to the southern edge of the map, where you'll find the entrance to a nightclub called Liquid Nights.

The bouncer isn't just going to wave you through. Look above the door, use Bowie's trick shot on the rune there, and you'll trigger an ambush from a group calling themselves the Good Guys. Clear them out and the bouncer finally steps aside.

Inside, head slightly right toward the DJ booth, where DJ Globbo has the first B.A.L.L. Guy trapped in a small cage on the counter. Talking to the DJ kicks off a Dance Dance Revolution-style rhythm minigame. Nail the QTE prompts in time with the music. You don't need a perfect run, but you do need 200,000 points to satisfy the judges. Clear the song and the DJ hands the first B.A.L.L. Guy over.

B.A.L.L. Guy 2: The Crazy Taxi Spoof

This one's the most stressful of the three by a wide margin. Fast travel to Downtown in Circuit Arcadia, head north, and go up a level until you spot an NPC named Clutch standing beside a wrecked, burning taxi.

Talk to him and he'll hand over a "Taxiball," along with a request to ferry his stranded customers around. This is a direct riff on Crazy Taxi. Look for NPCs with checkered flag icons floating over their heads, pick them up, and you'll immediately have a 30-second timer counting down. Get them to their destination marker before it hits zero, or the passenger dies inside the Taxiball.

If you're chasing full completion, there's a darker route worth knowing about. Let one timer expire on purpose, then haul the corpse inside the Taxiball to a green toilet cubicle just north of Clutch's location and flush the body. That unlocks the easy-to-miss Fare Thee Well achievement, so it's worth doing deliberately rather than stumbling into it by accident.

Deliver four or five passengers successfully and Clutch will ask for one last ride, this time to Rhea Pharmaceuticals over at Rhea Plaza. The timer on this final run is generous, so there's no real pressure. Drop him off and he rewards you with the second B.A.L.L. Guy.

B.A.L.L. Guy 3: Catching the Golden Fish

The third one's locked behind a fishing rod you don't start with, so there's a bit of setup before you can even attempt it.

Getting the Fishing Rod

Head to the beach in Pinkline Harbor, the area overlooking the massive cruise ship. There's a depressed fisherman sitting there, mourning his sunken boat. Equip Travis, use his levitation ability to pull the green boat out of the water, then talk to the fisherman again. He rewards you with a rod, appropriately named "Rod."

Catching the Fish

Fast travel to the Circuit Arcadia Zoo and head to the far southeastern corner of the map, where you'll find a pond with a fishing pole icon and two white chairs nearby. Suit-O chimes in to confirm you've found the right spot.

Cast your line, but ignore the big shadows moving through the water. You're specifically after a small, gold-colored fish giving off sparkles. Once it bites, hold the reel button to trigger a directional minigame, tapping your movement keys opposite the direction the fish pulls to keep the dolphin icon inside the green circle. Fill the circle completely, hit the final prompt, and the fish is yours, along with the last B.A.L.L. Guy.

Building the B.A.L.L. Gun

With all three B.A.L.L. Guys in your inventory, fast travel back to your Quarters and interact with the empty chassis sitting on top of that fish tank by the fridge.

Your character dumps all three aliens into the tank, the weapon powers on, and you'll immediately pop the B.A.L.L. in the Family achievement. From there, the B.A.L.L. Gun is a permanent fixture on your weapon wheel, ready to turn every tight corridor in the game into a bouncing, lethal mess.
