Windrose Trophy Guide: How to Maximize Comfort
Hanging a severed animal head on your living room wall is not just an intimidation tactic; it is a mechanical necessity.
Survival in Windrose is entirely dictated by your stamina bar. Whenever you stand near your base's Bonfire, you receive a "Rested" buff that massively increases your stamina regeneration speed while you are out exploring. The duration of this critical buff is determined by your camp's Comfort Level. The more furnished your base is, the longer the buff lasts.
Now before you waste your resources building ten identical wooden chairs expecting your comfort to skyrocket, you need to understand the golden rule of interior design: bonuses from the exact same sub-category do not stack. You only get the +1 Comfort bonus from your first chair, your first rug, and your first table.
However, Trophies are their own unique decoration category. Crafting and mounting these hunting spoils is the absolute best way to push your Comfort Level to the maximum, ensuring your stamina buff lasts upwards of 30 minutes. If you are entirely lost on how stamina dictates your ability to block and dodge, read my combat and survival guide first.
The Hunting Challenges
You cannot just chop a boar's head off and nail it to the wall. The crafting recipes for these trophies are strictly locked behind in-game Adventure Challenges.
To unlock the architectural blueprint for a specific trophy, you must kill a set quota of that specific animal. Once the challenge registers as complete, the recipe automatically unlocks at your workbench.
If you are struggling to find these animals, keep my resources and biome guide open so you know exactly which islands to scout.
The Complete Trophy Catalog
There are currently seven distinct trophies you can mount on your walls. They are centered perfectly at head height and can be attached to any standard wall piece.
Farming Strategies
Do not try to grind out forty wolf kills in one sitting; you will just end up burning through all your healing potions.
Instead, incorporate these hunts into your daily farming routes. If you are sailing to the Foothills to buy bulk supplies from a vendor, stop and put a few Alpha Wolves six feet under while you are there. If you want to automate those vendor runs so you have more time to hunt, check out my Merchant Contracts guide.
Additionally, if you are struggling with the Azure Dodos (who possess a surprisingly nasty multi-kick attack that shatters your guard), remember that you can build wooden fences to trap them or block their pathing. Refer back to the Windrose Hub for more advanced architectural combat tricks to make these hunting challenges a breeze.
