Invincible VS Guide: How to Unlock Every Achievement and Trophy
Before you waste dozens of hours randomly throwing punches in Versus Mode, you need a targeted strategy to conquer this brutal trophy list.
I learned the hard way that jumping into the arena without a roadmap will leave you burnt out before you even crack the halfway mark. Invincible VS delivers a punishing 3v3 tag fighter experience that demands precision and endless dedication. If you only care about the cinematic Story Mode, you will be rolling the credits in just over an hour. If you want to grab 100 percent completion and secure the Platinum trophy, you are staring down a massive time sink. The list contains a grand total of 46 achievements. A good chunk of them require you to simply finish a fight under specific conditions or battle using a curated team. The rest of the list demands an intense grind that will test your patience and your execution limits.
Conquering Story and Arcade Modes
Tackling the single-player content is the smartest way to get your feet wet and learn the tight timing windows for your attacks.
Campaign and Ladder Strategies
You need to complete the Story Mode on both Normal and Hard difficulties. I advise doing your first run on Normal to understand the matchups. When you go back for your Hard playthrough, skip all the cutscenes to dramatically speed up the process. Once the story is done, you must turn your attention to the Arcade Ladders. You are required to complete a Standard Arcade Ladder, which consists of seven fights on Normal. The Guardian Arcade Ladder steps up the pain with 10 fights on Hard. Save this one until you find a team you are highly confident in. The Invincible Arcade Ladder is the ultimate test. It throws 12 fights at you on Viltrumite difficulty. I strongly recommend placing Battle Beast in one of your three slots for his incredibly powerful counter abilities.
You also have to unlock Arcade Mode endings for the entire cast of 18 characters. The absolute fastest method to achieve this is running the Quick Arcade Ladder on Easy. It is only five fights long. Keep in mind that the first character you select for your squad is the one who gets the ending cinematic.
The Endless Progression Grind
Leveling up your profile and your roster is where you will spend the vast majority of your time in this game.
Player Levels and Character Mastery
Reaching Player Level 5, 10, and 25 will happen naturally as you complete ladders and dabble in multiplayer. Hitting Player Level 50 is a different beast entirely. You will need to farm experience points relentlessly. Competing in online matches yields a higher experience payout than offline modes, so take the fight to the internet to speed up your progression. You only need to participate in five online matches to get the Clash Crash, Anyone achievement, but you will want to play far more to ease the leveling grind.
The true nightmare of this list is the Character Mastery system. These levels are tied directly to the individual fighters on your team. You have to reach Character Mastery Level 20 with a single character, then nine characters, and finally all 18 characters to unlock the Full Measure achievement. Pick a dedicated team of three and never swap them out until they all hit level 20. Once they max out, build a new team of three and repeat the process. Grind this out in online matches and Quick Arcade Ladders.
Mastering Combat Mechanics
You cannot button mash your way to victory in Invincible VS. The game requires you to understand and execute its defensive and offensive systems repeatedly to pop these trophies.
Executions and Tags
An Overkill happens when you eliminate an opponent using a special or ultimate move instead of a basic strike. Always end your matches with an Ultimate to guarantee the Overkill triggers. You need to do this with all 18 characters. Set up a Versus Mode battle, use a different team for every match, and end them all with a flashy execution. You also need to kill an opponent using a taunt. Rex Splode is the easiest character to use for this. Whittle your enemy down to zero health and press Light and Heavy attack simultaneously to finish them off.
Active Tags are your bread and butter. Hold a tag button mid-combo to swap to a teammate. You must perform 100 of these, which will happen naturally over time. Heroic Strikes are defensive maneuvers executed by pressing Medium and Heavy attack right after blocking, costing 1.5 bars of boost. You need 100 of these. Counter Tags are even trickier, requiring you to hit Medium and Heavy attack just before an incoming opponent's Active Tag connects. If your timing is off, you will eat a massive combo. You need 100 of these as well. Finally, you have to execute 100 Assist Breakers by holding the Boost and Tag buttons while being hit. This sacrifices two bars of Boost and drains 50 percent of the tagging character's maximum health.
Character Specific Feats
The developer packed in several highly specific challenges that force you to recreate iconic matchups and field bizarre team compositions.
Mandatory Matchups
You must perform Omni-Man's neutral special ground pound to deliver the final blow against Invincible. You also need to defeat Rex Splode while playing as Monster Girl. Both of these are easily manufactured in Versus Mode by plugging in a second controller. The game also tasks you with fielding very specific trios. Simply complete a match with the following teams:
Teen Teamup: Any combination featuring Robot, Atom Eve, Rex Splode, or Dupli-Kate.
For The Empire: Any combination featuring Omni-Man, Thula, Lucan, Anissa, or Conquest.
Guarding The Globe: Cecil, Robot, and Monster Girl.
Killing Insects: Have Battle Beast on your team and defeat a specific enemy squad consisting of Robot, Monster Girl, and Invincible.
