Marvel Rivals Summer Event: How To Unlock The Free Mister Fantastic Swimsuit Skin
Getting Reed Richards into a vacation outfit requires a ridiculous amount of digital fishing.
The Summer Festival is officially live in Marvel Rivals, and it arrived with a massive wave of mini-events inside the new Hellfire Bay Beach social hub. While some of these tracks are giving out massive stashes of premium currency, NetEase is also throwing a few complete character looks into the mix. If you want to expand your cosmetic roster without opening your wallet, you can grab the new Mister Fantastic "Fantastic Beach Dad" skin entirely for free during the Season 8.5 update.
The Krakoan Reels Event Pass
The developers completely transformed the standard event pass structure into an interactive fishing mini-game called Krakoan Reels.
If you played through Jeff's Break Time event last year to secure the Business Shark skin, you already know exactly how this system works. Instead of just clicking through a linear progression bar, you have to actively collect bait and head to the water to reel in rewards. You can access the entire setup directly through the main event menu tab.
Grinding Matches For Bait
To actually participate in the mini-game, you need to earn event XP by playing regular matchmaking games. The system automatically takes your raw post-match XP and converts it into usable fishing bait.
Before you hop into a queue expecting to stockpile resources instantly, you need to look at the math. A single piece of fishing bait costs a massive 1950 XP. You are going to be grinding through quite a few matches to get a respectable inventory. You do have the option to skip the matches entirely and purchase bait directly using premium lattice units, but spending real money defeats the purpose of hunting down a free cosmetic.
Hooking The Beach Dad Skin
Once you have a decent pile of bait in your inventory, you can start launching the actual fishing mini-game from the event panel.
The logic here is pretty straightforward. Using your earned bait automatically boosts your overall chances of pulling rare fish out of the water. Every single fish you successfully reel in rewards you with special event silver coins. The exact number of coins you get depends entirely on the rarity of your catch, meaning high-tier pulls accelerate your progress significantly.
Leveling Up The Exchange Store
You cannot just buy the skin the second you get your first few silver coins. The Fantastic Beach Dad costume is locked away in the eighth tier of the event Exchange Store.
To unlock all 8 levels of the store, you must successfully catch a grand total of 21 fish. Once you finally hit that milestone and reveal the final tier, you have to hand over 18 silver coins to officially claim the outfit. It takes a solid time commitment, but it is the only way to get the look without paying.

Krakoan Reels Reward Milestones
The entire event pass features 40 separate cosmetic items split across a standard free track and a premium VIP tier. If you want to go beyond the free Reed Richards rewards, you can drop $9.99 to secure 990 Lattice and buy the premium pass. Doing so opens up high-tier drops like the legendary Cloak and Dagger swimsuit or the Spider-Man Coastal Wall-Crawler costume.
