Marvel Rivals Summer Festival Guide: Every Swimsuit Skin And Drop Date
NetEase is trading combat armor for beach towels in the latest update to give your wallet a serious workout.
The Rivals Summer Festival '26 kicks off around June 18 and June 19, turning the tactical shooter into a full blown beach party. The Season 8.5 update introduces the Hellfire Bay Beach social hub alongside a massive collection of ten brand new swimsuit cosmetics. If you want to know exactly how these aesthetic drops line up with the rest of the developer's plans, take a look at the Marvel Rivals Season 8.5 content roadmap to get a clear view of the timeline.
The Financial Game Plan
Before you immediately swipe your credit card on day one to buy the Emma Frost gear, you need to look at the free currency track.
NetEase is basically handing out cash right now. Through a mix of event challenges and daily login rewards tied to the festival, you can earn up to 2,500 free units. That's enough premium currency to completely cover the cost of at least one store exclusive swimsuit without spending a dime of real money. Make sure you actually log in and clear those daily objectives so you don't leave free cosmetics sitting on the table.
The Krakoan Reels Grind
The studio isn't dropping all ten skins into the cash shop at once. They split the collection, hiding three specific characters inside an event progression system called the Krakoan Reels Event.
This system operates exactly like a traditional battle pass. You have to log match completions and earn experience to climb through the tiers. If you want the Spider-Man or Cloak and Dagger beach fits, you'll need to pay for the premium track. However, NetEase is keeping the Mister Fantastic swimsuit completely free. This perfectly mirrors the Summer Party event from last year where players unlocked Thor's Worthy Waves skin at level 14 just by playing the game.
The Official Release Calendar
The remaining seven heroes are getting their outfits dumped straight into the digital storefront, but they arrive in specific batches across a three week period.
Digging Into The Vault
Ten heroes getting the beach treatment sounds like a massive drop, but executive producer Danny Koo practically confirmed the team is holding even more swimsuit designs in reserve for later.
If you completely missed the boat on older cosmetics from previous seasonal updates, you're actually in luck. You don't have to scour shady third party trading hubs to find legacy gear. NetEase is using this summer window to open up the Earth 616 Day Vault event, bringing the classic Loki summer costume back into the active rotation. Make sure you check the vault tabs before you dump all your newly acquired units on the latest releases.
