Palworld 1.0 Final Boss Guide: Surviving Zenara and Astralym
If you thought the Tower Bosses were frustrating, wait until you step into the sealed arena sitting at the absolute edge of the endgame.
The launch of the full game brings a definitive conclusion to the main storyline, and it hides right inside the World Tree. After you clear out the local mini-bosses and break the final seal, you come face to face with Zenara and her boss-exclusive companion, Astralym. Sitting at a terrifying Level 80 with a health pool of 420,000, this fight isn't a casual skirmish, it's a brutal damage check. If you don't bring the absolute best tech and understand how to navigate Astralym's instant-kill mechanics, you will spend your entire afternoon staring at the respawn screen. I mapped out the exact loadout and tactical positioning you need to clear the Awakening mission and finish the game.
Unlocking the World Tree Arena
You can't just stumble into the final encounter. You have to earn the right to get your teeth kicked in.
First, you need to actually breach the new region. If you haven't figured that out yet, check out my Palworld 1.0 world tree guide to bypass the barrier. Once you're inside, open your quest log and track "The Sealed Calamity." This points you toward three distinct mini-bosses scattered around the irradiated biomes. Defeating them grants you Contaminated Cores, which you need to bring back to the World Tree Core. Insert the items to break the seal, and the doors to the western tower finally open.
Just a quick reality check before you go in: you cannot capture Astralym. Don't bother wasting your ultra-rare spheres hoping for a glitch, just focus on dealing damage.
The Ideal Endgame Loadout
This fight requires Level 80 stats. If you try to drag Level 75 Pals into this arena, they're going to get shredded by overlapping laser grids. You need to leverage the newest tech to survive.
If you don't have your manufacturing lines sorted out to craft this gear yet, cross-reference my Palworld 1.0 technology unlocks level 80 breakdown to see exactly what materials you need to farm.
Phase One: Surviving the Laser Grid
The moment the opening cutscene ends and Zenara fuses with the creature, the fight immediately kicks off with a massive laser beam that covers the entire center of the room. Do not stand still admiring the particle effects. Dodge to the outer edges instantly.
Throughout the first half of its health bar, Astralym relies heavily on six tendrils that constantly spit out homing projectiles. You can't just outrun them. Wait until the very last second before the leading projectile connects, and execute a scoped dodge roll to break their tracking.
The biggest threat here is the charge attack. The game will actually flash a warning pop-up on your screen when Astralym plants its tendrils into the floor. This is an instant-kill sequence. You have to focus all of your fire directly onto those planted tendrils to interrupt the charge sequence. If you fail the damage check, you die. It's that simple. To make sure you have the firepower required, you might want to review my Palworld 1.0 new weapons crafting guide and build a Beam Launcher before stepping inside.
Phase Two: The Desperation Timer
Once you chip the boss down to about 50 percent health, the arena gets chaotic. The attacks shift from simple projectiles to an overlapping grid of lasers. You have to thread the needle between the beams while maintaining your damage output. I strongly recommend fighting from the back of a fast flying mount like Jetragon, as the aerial mobility makes weaving through the grid significantly easier.
When Astralym's health drops down to the 30,000 mark, it abandons standard tactics and initiates a final self-destruct sequence. The boss spawns violent energy tornadoes directly around its body (so stay away from melee range) and gives you exactly 20 seconds to finish the fight. This is the ultimate damage check. Empty your heavy weapons, trigger every active Pal skill you have off cooldown, and burn it down before the timer hits zero.
Once the boss shatters, you get your standard five Ancient Technology Points, and the final story cutscene plays out, leaving you free to finish up your base building and Paldeck completion at your own pace.
