Raccoin Character Tier List: The Meta Rankings

Not all cute animal mascots are created equal. Some are mathematical powerhouses, and others are actively trying to sabotage your run.

The progression system in Raccoin forces you to play every single character at least once. If you are actively hunting for all achievements outlined in my Raccoin Achievement Guide: 100% Completion walkthrough, you will eventually have to beat the maximum Golden Ticket difficulty with the entire roster.

However, when you are just trying to farm milestones or push for a personal high score, you need to know who actually dominates the meta. Certain characters possess innate mechanics that completely trivialize the late game, while others rely so heavily on store RNG that they are practically unplayable.

I have ranked the entire six character roster based on their scoring potential, economy management, and overall board control. If you do not know how to actually acquire these classes yet, pull up my Raccoin Character Unlock Guide to figure out the progression prerequisites.

S Tier: The Game Breakers

These characters possess mechanics that completely bypass the standard rules of the coin pusher. If you want to guarantee a win, pick one of these two.

Character Tier Justification
The Chemist Absolute board control. Element coins trigger massive explosions that forcefully clear dead zones and push piles over the edge. Furthermore, the Chemist can hoard up to five Modifier Prizes at once, giving you unparalleled flexibility when building your clip.
The Big Eater The highest scaling potential in the game. Using the Cooking Pot gadget to combine Food coins creates absurdly valuable assets. It plays incredibly slow in the early rounds, but once your recipes are cooked, the late game scoring is mathematically unstoppable.

If you take the Big Eater into a deep run, you absolutely must understand how global multipliers interact with base coin stats. Brush up on my Raccoin Advanced Scoring Strategy guide to make sure you do not waste your carefully cooked meals.

A Tier: The Reliable Earners

These characters are incredibly strong and perfectly viable for late game runs. They only fall short of S Tier because they either lack explosive board clearing power or rely slightly too heavily on gambling.

Character Tier Justification
The Manager The default character is secretly a powerhouse. The Manager generates a massive surplus of tickets and gets two free exchanges per round. You can simply buy your way out of bad situations. It is boring, but it is undeniably consistent.
The Trader The Trader lowers the combo threshold required to trigger the Spin Wheel. This creates an endless loop of prize balls dropping onto the board. The only downside is the Jetoin coin, which features volatile RNG that can occasionally steal your points.

If you are brand new to the game, do not rush to unlock the weird animals. Stick with the Manager. Learn the physics and master the economy tricks detailed in my Raccoin Beginner Tips Guide before you start messing with the RNG classes.

B Tier: The Situational Picks

You can win with this character, but it requires a very specific setup and a lot of micromanagement.

Character Tier Justification
The Astronomer The Astrofall mechanic is visually cool, but strategically annoying. Having coins randomly jump across the board makes it incredibly difficult to set up deliberate pusher lanes. You have to rely heavily on pairing the Sun coin with specific modifiers to make this class viable.

The Astronomer is highly dependent on you actually understanding how bizarre modifiers work. If you still do not know what the Origin or Return tags actually do, read my Raccoin Mechanics Explained breakdown so you stop misplaying your jumping coins.

C Tier: The RNG Traps

Do not play this character unless you are specifically hunting for their unique achievements.

Character Tier Justification
The Biologist The absolute bottom of the barrel. The Biologist relies on Animal coins that require strict pairings to function. If you buy predator coins but the shop refuses to sell you prey coins, your run dies instantly. It is entirely too reliant on good shop RNG to be consistent.

Stick to the top half of the roster. Farm your tickets with the Manager, blow the board up with the Chemist, and leave the Biologist in the dust.
