Suda51's 'Romeo is a Dead Man' Just Got A Release Date, And It's Soon

We knew Suda51 was cooking something weird, but the PlayStation App just told us exactly when dinner is served.

If you follow the chaotic mind of Goichi Suda (Suda51), you know two things: his games are hallucinations disguised as software, and he is terrified of releasing anything near Grand Theft Auto 6.

Well, it looks like he found his safe window.

According to a leak spotted on the PlayStation App (and shared by HazzadorGamin), Romeo is a Dead Man is set to launch on February 11th, 2026.

This date makes perfect sense. It puts the game safely in the "early year" slot, far away from the potential nuclear impact of Rockstar's open-world juggernaut later in the year.

The Leak Details

The leak comes directly from a backend listing on the PlayStation Store. Usually, when dates pop up here, they are either placeholders or the real deal. Given that February 11th is a specific Wednesday, it feels specific enough to be legitimate.

While we have known about the game's existence for a while thanks to its Steam page, the release window was always a vague "2026." This narrows it down significantly.

What The Hell Is This Game?

For those who haven't read the Steam blurb, Romeo is a Dead Man sounds like No More Heroes decided to hook up with Doctor Who in a dive bar.

You play as Romeo Stargazer, a guy who was on the brink of death but got revived by super-tech to join the "FBI Space-Time Police." Yes, that is a real sentence I just wrote. You don a mask called "Deadgear" and travel the cosmos hunting criminals who broke the space-time continuum.

Also, his girlfriend Juliet is missing because Suda51 loves a literal literary reference.

Fighting Blood With Blood

The gameplay loop sounds incredibly violent. According to the official description, Romeo switches between swords and guns to "fight blood with blood."

There is a mechanic called "Bloody Summer" where you absorb the blood of your enemies to unleash a special attack capable of turning the tide of battle. It sounds like the kind of over-the-top, arcadey gore we missed in No More Heroes 3.

We haven't had a "brand new" Grasshopper title (not a remaster or sequel) in years. This project is backed by NetEase, so they finally have the budget to match their insanity.

If this date holds up, February 2026 is shaping up to be a solid month for weirdos who like their games loud, confused, and covered in blood. Keep an eye out for an official confirmation soon.
