Shift at Midnight Achievement Guide: Every Unlock, Money Tips and a Warning About Clyde
Shift at Midnight hands out its achievements across three categories, and one of them can be quietly ruined by a single bad decision involving the town sheriff.
Basic Achievements
First Blood unlocks the moment you kill your first customer, doppelganger or not. Doesn't matter who they were, the achievement doesn't care about justification.
Still Breathing pops when you survive your first nightly assault, whether that's dealing with a doppelganger mid-shift or just making it to your first blood moon in one piece.
Locked And Loaded needs you to buy out the entire arsenal. That's all three melee weapons (brick, baseball bat, sledgehammer) plus the four ranged weapons (SMGs, shotguns, flamethrowers, since pistols come free from the start).
Enemy Kill Achievements
These four are tied to specific enemy types the entity brings during a Hunt.
Silenced wants a kill on a Shrieking Doll, the small crawling baby-like enemies.
Freed is earned by killing a Demented, the weeping-angel-style enemy. Best approach is dropping a bear trap and looking away as it closes in, since these things move when you're not watching.
Last Performance requires a Marionette kill, the jack-in-the-box enemy type that starts showing up from Shift 9 onward. Fail to wind its box in time and it turns aggressive, so use that against it.
Relentless asks you to finish an entire Hunt in under 30 seconds. Easiest shot at this is on a fresh save. Deliberately let a doppelganger through on Night 1, then go in loaded with bear traps and guns ready to burn it down fast.
If you want a refresher on exactly which customers are doppelgangers on which night before attempting that, the full night-by-night breakdown is here.
Ending Achievements
Three different endings, all tied to choices around Clyde and your pet.
Empty Home triggers if you choose not to call Clyde and can't scrape together the $250 needed for your pet's surgery after Shift 13 wraps up.
Grave Decision comes from calling Clyde in after Shift 12, sacrificing him to save your pet instead.
True Ending is the one to chase if you want both alive. Don't call Clyde, and make sure you've got that $250 saved up for the surgery once Shift 13 ends.
One important catch here: if Clyde Dawson, the sheriff, dies at any point during your run, all three ending achievements get voided completely. There's simply nobody left to call, which locks you out of the choice entirely. Keep him alive through the story if these endings matter to you.
Earning Extra Cash
A few smaller income sources worth working into your routine between customers.
Cleaning up stains earns $0.10 each, same rate for tossing trash or stray limbs into the dumpster.
Grabbing a rat and dumping it in the dumpster pays $3. Killing one instead only nets $0.10 for the leftover part.
Squashing a cockroach with your mop earns $0.10, and cleaning up the stain it leaves behind earns another $0.10 on top.
Tokens found around the store let you spin the gambling wheel. A good spin pays out $10 in store revenue, and once every hat's unlocked, landing on a hat refunds the tokens you spent.
Solo Players Can Get Everything
If you're running this alone rather than in a group, every achievement in the game is fully obtainable in solo play. Nothing here is locked behind having other people in your lobby.
