Crimson Desert: How to Find and Farm Scolecite Ore
Upgrading your gear to tier seven is an absolute nightmare if you do not know exactly which rocks to hit.
You have spent hours meticulously upgrading your favorite shield and sword. You are finally feeling powerful. Then, Crimson Desert slaps you with the tier seven requirements. Suddenly, the common materials you have been hoarding are entirely useless. The game demands Scolecite Ore, a rare crafting material deliberately placed in some of the late game regions. If you have been keeping up with my weapon and armor upgrades guide, you know that preparation is everything. Scolecite Ore requires knowing exactly which roads to travel. I spent plenty of time wandering around Pywel trying to find these rocks so you do not have to. Here is exactly where you need to go.
The Best Scolecite Ore Farming Locations
You essentially have two main options when hunting for this mineral. You can brave the late game regions where it grows in abundance, or you can snipe a specific mid game node.
Pywel and the Trader's Expanse
The absolute most efficient place to farm Scolecite Ore is in the northeastern chunk of Pywel. Specifically, you want to head straight into the actual Crimson Desert region. Open your map and look for the main road that cuts directly through the Trader's Expanse. This path acts as a highway leading directly to Varnia.
As you walk this road, keep your eyes on the various mountain faces bordering the path. I consistently found about ten separate Scolecite deposits just by following this single route. It is a highly productive run. Stay on the road, scan the rocks, and mine everything you see.
The Secret Pailune Node
If you are not quite ready for the northeastern desert, there is one Scolecite Ore deposit hidden much earlier in the mid game region of Pailune.
Fast travel to the main Pailune village. Head directly south from the settlement boundaries. You will find a single node resting there. I used this specific spot to grab a quick piece of ore without having to make the long trek back out to Varnia.
Extraction Methods and Vendors
Finding the rocks is only half the battle. You actually have to break the deposits open, and Crimson Desert gives you a surprising amount of freedom in how you handle the manual labor. Check out my resource gathering guide if you want the basics, but here are the specifics for Scolecite.
Pickaxes, Bows, and Magic
The traditional method is obvious. Carry a pickaxe and get to work. However, if you do not feel like swinging a tool, you can literally blast the ore out of the stone. A well aimed Charged Shot from your bow will break the deposit instantly. If you prefer to get up close and personal, the Focus Palm ability works just as effectively. It feels a bit ridiculous to use ancient martial arts techniques to do a miner's job, but it is undeniably satisfying.
Gathering and Companions
Once the rock breaks, the raw ore falls onto the ground. You can manually pick up every single piece yourself, but that gets old fast.
If you have an active pet, they will automatically gather the dropped Scolecite Ore for you. It saves a few seconds per node, which adds up massively when you are farming all ten spots along the Varnia road. Read my guide on how to tame pets and companions to get a loot helper of your own.

Sometimes you just do not have the patience to hit rocks. Several street merchants and dedicated mineral vendors scattered throughout the Crimson Desert region actually sell Scolecite Ores.
