What the Leak Actually Says

According to a new report, Diablo IV is landing on Switch 2 as the Age of Hatred Collection, bundling the base game together with its two expansions, Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred. It's set to come in physical and digital editions alike, priced at €69.99, $69.99, or £62.99 depending on region, and the release date being floated is September 15, 2026. Honestly, I wasn't expecting that price to make sense until I saw what's actually bundled in, but two full expansions on top of the base campaign explains a lot of it.

Why September 12 Is the Date to Watch

An official announcement hasn't happened yet, but pre-orders are reportedly expected to open on September 12, which lines up with the opening day of BlizzCon 2026. That timing makes a BlizzCon reveal a pretty reasonable guess, though there's also a chance it gets folded into a Nintendo Direct instead, similar to how Final Fantasy XIV got a brief nod in a sizzle reel after its own reveal at a separate fan event. I'd love to see it land during the Direct instead, just for the spectacle of it, but either path works out the same for anyone waiting on official word, you'd just be getting it from a different stage.

What People Are Hoping For

A lot of the excitement floating around this leak is about September's Nintendo Direct in general, there's a sense that it's shaping up to be a pretty packed one regardless of whether Diablo IV ends up part of it. Performance is the other big question mark, some people are hoping for a full 60fps in both docked and handheld modes, though that's just a hope at this point and nothing in the leak actually confirms it either way.

None of the performance details are locked in yet, so I'd hold off on expecting 60fps until Blizzard or Nintendo actually confirms it, the price and date alone are still a pretty solid sign this one's really happening.
