Marvel Rivals Season 9 Roadmap: Jubilee, Thebes Map, And The Winter Soldier Costumes

NetEase is refusing to slow down their breakneck content pace, dropping a massive weekly calendar for the upcoming season.

Marvel Rivals Season 9.0 Roadmap infographic detailing July and August updates, including new hero Jubilee, the Thebes map, Path to Doomsday PvE mode, and various character costumes and events.

The current competitive split is wrapping up, and the upcoming seasonal drop is loading the game with weekly updates throughout July. Titled The Faith-Harvesting Engine, this pass leans heavily into ancient mythology, robotic apocalypses, and a few highly requested cinematic throwbacks. I took a long look at the newly released calendar, and while certain neglected mutant mains are going to be absolutely furious about the character selection, the sheer volume of costumes and events is going to completely alter your weekly routine.

Launch Week Releasing On July 10

The season kicks off with an absolute mountain of core system updates and character adjustments designed to completely flip the current competitive landscape.

Reworks And Massive System Overhauls

If you plan on logging in the second the patch hits, you have to get used to entirely new character dynamics. Launch day brings the official debut of Jubilee as our newest playable hero. To make sure she fits cleanly into the rotation, the development team is launching a complete team-up ability overhaul alongside a comprehensive character rework for Black Widow. If you want to study how these structural changes affect your favorite heroes before loading into a match, make sure to read through my comprehensive Marvel Rivals Season 9 patch notes guide so you aren't left guessing mid-fight.

The Faith-Harvesting Engine Cosmetics

July 10 also introduces the newest battle pass track, alongside a couple of major narrative events called Death of Apocalypse and The Resurrection of the Horsemen. If you plan on browsing the in-game shop, you'll find a wave of launch day cosmetics. Jubilee is getting her Midnight Mutant costume, Rogue picks up the Raider Prime look, and Wolverine receives his incredibly dark Horsemen of Death skin. You can also pick up a new Shogo Tote accessory to round out your inventory.

Mid-July Event Drops

The second week of the schedule pivots away from hardcore system rebalances to focus entirely on high-fashion cosmetics and a hilarious prehistoric cosmetic crossover.

Van Dyne Couture And Prehistoric Pranks

Starting July 17, you can participate in the brand new Van Dyne Couture event. The shop is getting updated with three highly specific character looks, and one of them is going to cause absolute chaos in your visual clarity. Devil Dinosaur is getting a costume called Jeff the Dinosaur, which literally dresses the massive prehistoric apex predator up like a giant, adorable blue landshark. I can already see myself sprinting away from a giant blue tail only to realize it's a massive reptile trying to stomp me into the dirt.

If you prefer humanoid options, Gambit joins the Horsemen of Death collection with a pristine armored variant. Hawkeye also breaks his long dry spell with his new Van Dyne Designs skin. It is a wildly different look for Clint, trading his traditional tactical gear for a sleek white coat and blonde hair that makes him look like a pop star ready to drop a platinum album.

Late July Map And Game Mode Updates

The final leg of the July calendar introduces the heavy-hitting environmental expansions, introducing a massive competitive battleground and a highly anticipated cooperative gauntlet.

The Battle For Thebes

On July 24, NetEase is finally solving our map drought by dropping a brand new battleground called Thebes. This environment leans directly into the ancient Egyptian aesthetic that dominates the season's lore. To match the ancient tomb atmosphere, the shop is dropping Hela's gorgeous new Temple Protectors costume alongside Psylocke's terrifying Horsemen of Death outfit.

Age Of Ultron Cooperative PvE

July 31 is easily the busiest single day on the entire roadmap. If you are tired of getting styled on by sweaty matchmaking lobbies, you can grab your friends and dive into the new Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Age of Ultron PvE mode. This cooperative gauntlet lands the exact same week as the Marvel Rivals Ignite Series Mid-Season Finals, so you can alternate between watching pro-tier execution and smashing robotic drone swarms with your own squad.

The final day of July also unloads a massive wave of cinematic and comic-accurate gear into the store:

  • Spider-Man & Hulk: Both heroes receive their highly requested Brand New Day costumes. Spidey finally gets a clean, traditional red-and-blue look that looks phenomenal in motion.

  • Scarlet Witch: Wanda picks up her official cinematic Avengers: Age of Ultron uniform.

  • Winter Soldier: Bucky Barnes finally secures his legendary, long-awaited Captain America: The Winter Soldier outfit. Complete with the tactical mask and the pristine chrome arm, this is an instant purchase for me.

Looking Ahead To August

The massive wave of weekly drops completely wraps up once the calendar turns over, leading directly into the next phase of the live-service cycle.

August 7 officially marks the conclusion of the 9.0 content cycle and serves as the launchpad for Season 9.5. NetEase is keeping their lips completely sealed regarding what that mid-season update actually entails, but it's safe to assume we will see the formal debut of The Hood alongside a fresh wave of balance updates. I'll update this breakdown the second the developers share the next phase of the roadmap, but for now, you have plenty of cosmetics to farm and an entire Ultron army to dismantle.
