Mixtape Grunge Metal Alchemist Trophy Guide: Slater's Secret Slushy Recipe
Mixtape hides one of its trophies in plain sight, inside a slushy machine you interact with in Chapter 8 with zero prior warning about what you're supposed to make.
The "Grunge Metal Alchemist" trophy asks you to recreate Slater's secret slushy recipe, which sounds straightforward right up until you realise the game doesn't actually tell you what's in it at this point in the story. The recipe is pinned to a wall in Slater's room, which you won't visit until much later. So unless you already know what you're looking for, Chapter 8 comes and goes and the trophy doesn't pop. The good news is that chapter select exists, the chapter itself is short, and the fix takes about two minutes once you know the combination.
The Recipe
No preamble needed here. In Chapter 8: Ultimate Slushie, mix the following four flavours into the cup:
As long as all four flavours have been added to the cup, you're done. A quarter of each is the cleanest approach if you want to fill it evenly, but the game doesn't care about ratios or the order you pour them. The trophy pops the moment the cup fills and the creation screen appears, so you don't need to wait for any dialogue or scene transition.
It doesn't matter which character you make the slushy with either. Once all four flavours are in, Slater will christen the finished product "The Super Secret Gonzo Skinny Dipper" and the Grunge Metal Alchemist trophy unlocks immediately.
Why You Probably Missed It
The recipe is actually in the game, just chronologically useless. It's pinned to the wall in Slater's room, which you don't explore until Chapter 25, seventeen chapters after you needed the information. So on a blind first playthrough, Chapter 8 arrives with no context, you make a slushy, it doesn't trigger anything, and you move on without realising there was ever a specific combination to hit.
If you've already finished the story, jump back into Chapter 8 via chapter select. The chapter is purely the slushy minigame followed by a brief bedroom scene, so you're looking at maybe two minutes to get in, make the right combination, and get back out with the trophy.
For everything else you might have missed, my Mixtape Trophy & Achievement Guide covers the full list, and if Front to Back is the one giving you grief, my Front to Back Trophy Guide has every room mapped out in order.
