Pragmata Guide: How to Melt Through Blue and Red Crystal Roadblocks

Finding a shiny new upgrade on your scanner only to realize it is blocked by an indestructible wall of glowing space junk is a uniquely frustrating brand of torture.

Pragmata loves to dangle carrots right in front of your face. You will be wandering through the opening areas, desperately low on ammo and health, and suddenly spot a stash of Pure Lunum sitting just out of reach behind a massive cluster of blue crystals. Naturally, you shoot it. Then you try blowing it up with an explosive module. Then you hit it with a melee attack. Nothing works. You might as well be throwing harsh language at a brick wall.

The Cradle is built on the classic design philosophy of showing you shiny toys long before you have the batteries for them. You absolutely cannot brute force your way through the Lim misprints or the Dead Lunafilament. You need very specific upgrades for Diana to clear these paths.

Now before you waste your precious time scouring the opening areas for a puzzle solution that does not exist yet, let me save you the headache. Here is exactly when you get the tools to rip these blockades apart.

If you are still struggling to survive the basic combat loops while looking for these walls, read my Pragmata Beginner's Guide first to get your footing.

How to Destroy Blue Crystals (Lim Misprints)

The blue glowing rocks are officially called Filament Masses or Lim misprints. You will see these everywhere starting from minute one. Ignore them completely during your first few hours. You literally cannot interact with them until you reach the second major sector of the game.

Unlocking the Lim Eraser

To melt the blue goo, you need an ability called the Lim Eraser. You will naturally acquire this as part of the main story progression in Sector 2, the Mass Production Array. You do not have to go out of your way to find a secret room.

While working your way through the Comms Tower objective to unlock the massive gate, you will eventually hit an area called the Lim Recycling Facility. Just past the Recycling Control Tram Station, you will find a specific terminal. Interacting with this machine permanently teaches Diana the Lim Eraser technique.

Using the Lim Eraser in the Wild

Deploying the ability is incredibly straightforward and costs absolutely nothing. Walk right up to the blue mass, hold down the designated shoulder button (L1, LB, or the E key on PC), and let Diana do the heavy lifting. The crystals will dissolve into nothing, leaving the path wide open.

Once you have this tool, you need to use the Tram system and backtrack to the Solar Power Plant. I highly recommend doing this immediately. There is a massive stash of Lunafilament and a Storage Expander for Diana's Hacking Gauge hidden behind the early blue walls. Expanding your gauge is critical for dropping massive combos. If you want to know how to maximize that extra meter, read my Hacking Masterclass.

How to Destroy Red Crystals (Dead Lunafilament)

Just when you think you have the map figured out, the game introduces a secondary roadblock. Often, you will melt a blue crystal in the Business District only to find a glowing red one sitting directly behind it. These red structures are Dead Lunafilament, and the Lim Eraser will not even scratch them.

Acquiring the Cleanse Protocol

You are going to be staring at these red walls for a long time. The solution is locked heavily behind late game progression. You will not get the necessary ability until you finish Sector 4, the Lunum Mines.

After surviving the mines, you will be pushed into a section called Experimental Pragmatics. Completing this specific sequence unlocks the Cleanse ability, which the game sometimes refers to as the Deletion Protocol.

Erasing the Dead Filament

Cleanse operates a little differently than the Lim Eraser. Instead of just holding a button to erase a targeted obstacle, you have to charge an area of effect pulse. Hold the shoulder button to build up the blast radius on the ground in front of Hugh. Once the visual ring covers the red crystals, release the button to trigger the detonation.

Just like the blue variant, this costs zero resources. You can spam it as much as you need to clear a room.

The Backtracking Protocol

Once you have both the Lim Eraser and the Cleanse protocol, the entire Cradle is essentially yours to rip apart. Pragmata hides its best weapons, rarest attachments, and pure upgrade materials behind these specific barriers.

Do not rely solely on your memory to find them again. Pull up your map and look for the pathways that abruptly end. Equip your Object Scan ability, fast travel to the old Tram stations, and start claiming the loot you were denied hours ago. Keep in mind that taking a Tram resets the enemies in the sector, so you will have to fight your way back to the roadblocks. Ensure you have your weapons properly leveled before taking a trip back to Sector 1. If you need a refresher on what gear to prioritize, check out my Best Early Upgrades and Combat Loadouts Guide.

Between the crystals, the hidden holographic walls, and the high level Red Zones, a fully unlocked map is a goldmine.
