Helldivers 2 Joins PS Plus Extra Today, and the Rest of August's Lineup Comes With a Catch
Helldivers 2 lands on PS Plus Extra today, August 12, but the bigger wave of additions landing August 25 isn't actually available everywhere.
Helldivers 2 goes live for Extra members worldwide today, timed to a large update to the base game itself, so anyone jumping in fresh is landing right as things are actively changing rather than mid-patch. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Vampire Survivors follow on the usual Tuesday, August 18. Everything after that, Hell is Us, Umamusume Pretty Derby – Party Dash, Two Point Museum, Metro Exodus, and Dying Light 2, arrives August 25, and only in the US, UK, and Japan. Nowhere in the announcement is that limitation explained, it's just listed once per game and easy to skim past.

The Ones I'd Actually Prioritize
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is the one I'd play first out of this whole batch. Warhorse built a genuinely dense, unglamorous version of 15th-century Bohemia, the kind of grounded, slightly janky European RPG that doesn't get made much anymore, and getting it through Extra instead of paying full price for a sequel this long is a real deal. Vampire Survivors barely needs the pitch at this point, it's cheap enough that plenty of people already own it, but if you've somehow avoided the genre it spawned, this is the one that started it. Helldivers 2 landing alongside a major update is worth timing around too, better to drop in while the balance changes are fresh than three weeks after everyone's already adjusted.
Premium Adds Two Classics
PS Plus Premium members also get Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, originally a PS2 game, and Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire, a PS1 title now running with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom filters. Neither comes with a specific date beyond being part of August's Premium additions, so treat them as arriving sometime in the same window rather than locked to the 18th or 25th specifically.
Don't Mix This Up With Monthly Games
This is a different program from PS Plus Monthly Games, which already handed Essential subscribers Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition earlier this month as a permanent claim. The version showing up here on August 25 is the base Dying Light 2 through the Extra and Premium rotating library instead, playable while you're subscribed rather than kept forever. Same game, same month, two different deals depending on which tier you're actually paying for.
