Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream - How To See The Ending And Unlock All Trophies
Thinking this digital ant farm goes on forever is a rookie mistake, because there is actually a definitive ending hiding right under the town square.
Most simulation games just let you grind endlessly until you eventually get bored and put the console in a drawer. Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream actually has the decency to give you a finish line. Getting there is a massive test of patience that requires mastering the island economy and hoarding a very specific currency. You are going to be managing romances, answering weird trivia questions, and sending people on expensive vacations. Now before you waste weeks doing random tasks that lead nowhere, I am going to outline the exact steps required to roll the credits, unlock every single travel ticket tour, and fill out your trophy case.
If you need a refresher on the basics before tackling the endgame, make sure to browse my other walkthroughs in the Tomodachi Life hub.
The Wishing Fountain Economy
To beat the game, you need to completely ignore your cash balance and focus entirely on the Wishing Fountain in the center of your island.
The main progression system relies on "Warm Fuzzies." Every time you make a Mii happy by feeding them or solving a problem, they generate this emotional currency. Once enough Warm Fuzzies fill the top of the Wishing Fountain, your island rank increases and you are granted a Wish. You can spend these wishes on various upgrades, but if you want to see the ending, you need to dump all of them into unlocking Travel Tickets.
Unlocking The Travel Ticket Tours
Every time you grant a certain number of total wishes, a new Travel Ticket tour unlocks at the fountain. The game is generous enough to give you a free ticket every time a new destination opens up, saving you from having to grind another rank just to test it out.
The unlocks happen in intervals of five. At 10 wishes, you unlock the Oceania Tour. At 15, you get Hawaii. This continues steadily, opening up places like Western Europe, the Galápagos Islands, and World Castles.
Sending a Mii on one of these tours cures their bad moods instantly and rewards you with a unique regional item. You might get a Koala Cuddly Toy from Oceania or Matcha from Kyoto. These items are incredibly rare, and if you are strapped for cash, you can sell them at the pawn shop for a massive profit. Check out my guide on making money and expanding your island if you need to optimize your wallet.
Triggering The True Ending
Reaching the end credits is entirely tied to maxing out the Travel Ticket system. You have to grind enough Warm Fuzzies to grant a staggering 100 total wishes.
Once you hit the 100 wish milestone, you unlock the final destination: the Outer Space Tour. This is where the game drops the simulation facade entirely. Purchasing this ticket triggers a cinematic revealing that your peaceful Wishing Fountain is actually a decoy covering a massive underground rocket launching facility.
A group of your Miis will board the rocket and blast into orbit. You are thrown into a spaceship minigame, and as you pilot the craft through the stars, the actual end credits roll. Once the sequence finishes, the game gives you a neat little summary of which Miis you spent the most time interacting with, and then drops you right back onto the island to continue your daily routine.
Grinding The 12 Trophy Treasures
If rolling the credits is not enough for you, there is one final challenge. The game features 247 collectible treasures, and the absolute last 12 slots in your catalog are reserved for special Trophies. You cannot buy these or find them on tours. You have to grind specific gameplay loops to earn them.
The Final Cleanup
The Standard Trophies are basically free if you maintain a decent daily routine. Just keep feeding them and patting their heads. The Palette Trophies are incredibly easy to exploit if you do not actually care about making good art.
The Speech Bubble Trophies are the real bottleneck. They take the longest because you are entirely at the mercy of the game's random number generator. You just have to wait for your residents to ask you for a word input. Whenever you see a Mii wanting to talk about their favorite celebrity or needing a catchphrase, drop whatever you are doing and fill out the text box.
Once you have the Outer Space Tour completed and all 12 trophies sitting in your inventory, you have effectively conquered the island. Everything else is just digital landscaping.
