007 First Light Guide: How to Crack the Manager's Safe

Walking into the hotel manager's office unprepared is a fantastic way to blow your cover and ruin a perfectly good stealth run.

A stealth gameplay screenshot from 007 First Light showing a character crouching behind wooden crates in a museum interior to avoid being seen by a guard on a balcony.

During the third mission, "All the Time in the World," you are tasked with investigating a blonde man. Eventually, your objectives shift, pointing you toward the laundry area. This is your cue to do a little off-the-books snooping. I spent a good chunk of time sneaking around this specific section of the hotel, and knocking out both "The Manager" and "Wine Connoisseur" challenges here is entirely doable in a single run. Before you start wildly guessing the safe combination and attract unwanted attention, I will walk you through exactly how to get in and get out unseen.

Slipping Into the Office Unseen

You want to start by heading down to the main reception area. Look for the open doors where two guests are having a conversation, walk past them, and push through the large double doors explicitly marked "Staff Only."

Immediately crouch. There is a maid actively cleaning the room, and if she spots you, your stealth run is dead in the water. Hide behind the table she is currently working on. You need a distraction, so pull up your Q-Lens (L1/LB) and use it to hack the vacuum cleaner in the room. The machine will turn on, the maid will go investigate the noise, and you can casually slip through the door on your right.

Congratulations, you just unlocked "The Manager" challenge. Keep in mind that depending on your chosen difficulty setting, guards and staff might be highly sensitive to noise, so move quickly once she turns her back.

The Safe Code and the Wine Connoisseur

Now that you are alone in the office, you need to find the code for the safe tucked under the main desk.

If you look around, you'll notice a bunch of different wine bottles on display, all featuring distinct vintage years. If you check the drawer on the left side of the room, you'll find a note stating that the 1972 Archambeau Rouge is decent, but nothing compares to the Mont Arras Sacramental.

(People in this universe are notoriously terrible at password security, and hotel management is apparently no exception.)

Take a look at the display case on the left side of the office. Inspect the "Vino Sacramental" bottle, and the label clearly states it is a vintage from 1952. Walk over to the keypad under the desk, punch in 1-9-5-2, and hit the enter button. Cracking it instantly checks off the "Wine Connoisseur" challenge.

Cellar Key Unlocks restricted lower levels of the hotel later in the mission.

Grabbing the Cellar Key isn't strictly mandatory to finish the level, but it makes navigating the later sections of the hotel drastically easier. And if you want to look the part while you are picking locks and ghosting past security personnel, take a second to check out my complete suits unlock guide so you don't go into the field wearing standard issue gear.
