Running around Pywel in your starting rags is a guaranteed way to become a Piñata for the first mercenary you meet.

The combat in this game is punishing if you do not respect the math. You can dodge and parry all you want, but eventually, you are going to take a hit. The armor system relies on four distinct equipment slots. You have headgear, chest armor, gloves, and footwear. You need to fill every single slot to maximize your survivability. The best gear in Pywel is not sitting in a vendor menu. You have to hunt for it. The developers have an absolute obsession with hiding treasure chests behind waterfalls, so prepare to get wet. Here is exactly where you need to go for the unique drops.
