LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Vehicle Guide
Gotham City is a massive playground, and walking is strictly for the henchmen.
You have 33 different vehicles to collect in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The roster spans 86 years of DC Comics history, covering iconic live-action Batmobiles, obscure cartoon motorcycles, and even a giant lime green pickle car. I spent a ridiculous amount of time tracking every single one of them down.
The Garage Mechanics
Before you waste hours trying to find a specific car spawner out in the open world, you should know how the basic vehicle menus actually work. You can swap your ride at any time. Just hit Options to open the Characters menu, highlight your current character, and press Triangle (or Y on an Xbox pad). This pulls up your entire unlocked vehicle list. You can also press Square (or X) to swap the paint job using any Red Bricks you have unlocked.
Buying the cars requires a bit more effort. You unlock the Batcave Garage and the main computer terminal after completing Chapter 1. Most vehicles cost a hefty chunk of Studs, but others are locked behind specific side activities. You will need to hunt down WayneTech Caches, complete AR Trials, find Lost Zoo Animals, and wrap up Waylon Jones Cases to get the full collection.
Complete Vehicle Unlock List
I put together a full breakdown of every vehicle, who drives it, and exactly what you need to do to unlock it.
The Best and Weirdest Rides in Gotham
You are probably going to pick a favorite and stick with it. I recommend checking out the trivia attached to these vehicles, as the developers dug incredibly deep into the DC archives for a few of them.
Batman's Massive Garage
Batman hoards the majority of the vehicles in the game. My absolute favorite is the 1989 Batmobile. You can practically hear Danny Elfman's score playing as you cruise around remembering Vicki Vale asking "What car?" in the movie. If you want something a little more flashy, grab the 1966 Lincoln Futura design from George Barris. That jet turbine actually worked in real life, pushing the car over 170 miles per hour.
If you prefer pure destruction, you have multiple tanks to choose from. You can grab the controversial Tumbler from the Nolan movies, the gray brawler from Batman v Superman, or the Arkham Trilogy vehicle. That last one reminds me of spending way too many hours doing mandatory boss fights in Arkham Knight. For sheer absurdity, grab the Deluxe Edition Batmobeast. It is literally an evil, sentient Batman from the Dark Knights: Death Metal series who uploaded his consciousness into a monster truck.
For two-wheeled action, you have the Batpod with its incredibly chunky tires, famously staring down the Joker in The Dark Knight. You also have the slick motorcycle from The Batman featuring actual bat ears on the wind deflector.
Robin and Nightwing
Robin has a few fun options. You get the default Robincycle pulled straight from a 1966 issue of Teen Titans, serving as his main ride through the 1970s. You can also drop 35,000 studs on the Redbird, which is specifically the motorcycle Chris O'Donnell drove in the Batman & Robin movie because the main car only had one seat. His weirdest vehicle is the Robinmobile. It comes from 1951's Star Spangled Comics and features a giant "R" slapped on the front for absolutely zero stealth capability.
Nightwing upgrades the aesthetics nicely. You get his classy 2022 Annual motorcycle by default. Once you grind out 130 WayneTech caches, you can buy the Nightbird, a beautiful sports car from a 1998 comic run. I suggest avoiding his Wingcycle entirely. You unlock it after 25 AR Trials, and it comes with a white and yellow sidecar that genuinely looks like Donald Duck.
Batgirl and Catwoman
Batgirl fans get Yvonne Craig's iconic cycle from the 1966 television show. It retains all the original frilly details, honoring the actress who actually did her own driving and stunts. Her other two vehicles are pulled from the 2015 DC Super Hero Girls web series. You get a completely boring scooter by default, and you can buy her purple van after finding 100 WayneTech Caches.
Catwoman has a very distinct style. You start with her motorcycle from the 2022 film, perfect for fumbling a baddie. The real highlights are her cars. You can unlock the classic 1940s Catmobile featuring a massive cat face on the grill. If you want something truly unhinged, drop 45,000 Studs on the Kitty Car. It is a lime green vehicle from the 1966 show that looks exactly like a giant pickle rolling down the street.
Gordon and Talia
Gordon brings a GCPD Cruiser, a standard police motorcycle, and a SWAT Van to the roster. They are incredibly generic. The van roughly models the ones from The Dark Knight, though I think the brown animated series vans would have been a much better choice. I am fairly certain the seats in all three vehicles come pre-stained with donut crumbs.
Talia rounds out the list with some League of Shadows gear. Her default motorcycle rocks a sweet shuriken decal on the side. If you collect 190 WayneTech Caches, you unlock her personal unpainted Tumbler from The Dark Knight Rises. She also gets a white sports car pulled from a 2021 issue of Robin, though the actual comic version was green with a dragon painted on the side.
