007 First Light Guide: How to Find the Bellboy Hat
Risking an international incident to steal a hat you can't even wear is peak video game logic, but you need it for the completion screen.
During the third mission, "All the Time in the World," James Bond infiltrates a highly prestigious hotel to track down a mysterious blond man. The mission features 26 different challenges to complete, and the Bellboy Hat objective is easily one of the most annoying tasks on the list.
The game gives you absolutely zero markers pointing you toward it. The hat itself is locked inside a hidden closet down on the ground floor. Before you drive yourself crazy trying to kick down every door near the reception desk, you need to know that the item required to unlock that closet is currently sitting in a guard's pocket on a completely different floor.
If you're already scouring the hotel trying to clear out your challenge checklist, checking off this objective pairs perfectly with finding the hidden mementos scattered around the building.
Pulling off the Heist
You can't just walk up to the closet and muscle your way inside. You need a specific Staff Key, and getting it requires a little bit of distraction.
Walk up the stairs to the second floor and find the hallway directly opposite Room 205. A staff member is standing guard right there, holding the key. Don't even try to pickpocket him while he's actively watching the hall. If you get caught, your cover blows and you'll have to deal with a massive firefight over a hat.
To create an opening, walk over to the vacuum cleaner parked just to the right of the staircase and interact with it. The noise immediately grabs his attention. Wait until he fully turns his back to investigate the machine, sneak up behind him, and lift the Staff Key straight from his pocket.
Claiming Your Prize
Once you've secured the key, you can finally go grab the hat.
Head back downstairs to the main ground floor reception area. The moment you hit the lobby, turn immediately to your right, and then take another right. You'll spot a locked door on your right side. Use the stolen Staff Key to open it, vault over the random box blocking your path inside the closet, and look at the trolley.
Inspect the Bellhop Hat resting on top to complete the challenge. Don't bother trying to equip it so you can sneak into other staff-only areas. It doesn't function as a disguise at all. Inspecting it is literally the only interaction you get, but it permanently ticks the challenge off your list so you can finally get back to hunting down your actual target.
