Windrose Trader Guide: All Faction Vendor Locations
You are going to collect a massive amount of weird currency before you ever see a cash register.
One of Windrose's more confusing early quirks: the economy exists, coins pile up fast, and the game never once points you toward anyone willing to take them.
Explore the starting islands, kill a few local pirates, crack open enough ancient chests, and Piastre and Guinea start stacking up in your pockets without any explanation of what they're actually for. There's no shopkeeper waiting on the beach to take that coin off your hands. The actual merchants sit inside organized faction hubs scattered across the map, and finding them the first time means carrying around a small fortune with nowhere to spend it. If your reputation isn't high enough yet to unlock the good gear once you do find a vendor, the reputation farming guide covers exactly how that system works.
The Rogue Buccaneers Faction
This is typically the very first organized faction you will actually interact with, assuming you tackle the side quests instead of just blindly sailing into the ocean.
Because the map layout in Windrose is procedurally generated for every single server, I cannot give you an exact compass direction to their base. Instead, you need to trigger the specific "Buccaneers Side Quest."
Following the objective markers for this quest will lead you directly to their "temporary island," as they have recently been pushed out of their main territory. When you land on their island, the game graciously provides a free, unlockable fast travel campfire, meaning you do not have to waste copper building your own Fast Travel Bell. For convenience, their representatives can also be found at the central hub in Tortuga.
If you are confused about what the Flibustier's or Tracker's armor sets actually do, I have a complete breakdown in my weapons and armor crafting guide.
The People of Tortuga Faction
Tortuga is the economic heart of the game. You will naturally find this hub by following the "How My Sea Adventure Began" main questline.
Be incredibly careful on your way there. The quest log might classify this as a Level 1 objective, but the ocean surrounding Tortuga is routinely patrolled by Level 6 to Level 10 pirate vessels. If you just sail straight in on a basic starting rowboat, you will get blown to pieces. Ensure you understand how to repair and upgrade your ship before attempting the crossing. Once you dock safely, you will find the People of Tortuga merchants right in the center of the market square.
If you want to know how to effectively place all those fancy marble columns and mahogany stairs, read my base building guide.
Brethren of the Coast Faction
You do not have to sail far to find this group. Like the People of Tortuga, the Brethren of the Coast maintain a massive presence in the Tortuga Market. You will usually find their representatives hanging out closer to the docks.
That Frigate blueprint is the ultimate endgame goal for naval combat. Start grinding those pirate camps, turn in your insignias, and save your Guineas. Keep an eye on our Windrose Hub for more ways to dominate the pirate economy.
