Windrose Trader Guide: All Faction Vendor Locations

You are going to collect a massive amount of weird currency before you ever see a cash register.

One of the most confusing aspects of Windrose's early game is its economy. As you explore the starting islands, kill local pirates, and crack open ancient chests, your pockets will slowly fill up with Piastre and Guinea. The game casually lets you hoard this premium currency without giving you the slightest hint about where or how to spend it.

You cannot just trade these coins to a random castaway on the beach. You have to locate the organized faction hubs scattered across the procedural map. I spent hours carrying thousands of Piastre before finally tracking down the actual merchants. If you are struggling to build a reputation high enough to even buy the good stuff, you need to read my reputation farming guide immediately.

Here is exactly where to find the major faction traders and a breakdown of their entire inventory.

The Rogue Buccaneers Faction

This is typically the very first organized faction you will actually interact with, assuming you tackle the side quests instead of just blindly sailing into the ocean.

Because the map layout in Windrose is procedurally generated for every single server, I cannot give you an exact compass direction to their base. Instead, you need to trigger the specific "Buccaneers Side Quest."

Following the objective markers for this quest will lead you directly to their "temporary island," as they have recently been pushed out of their main territory. When you land on their island, the game graciously provides a free, unlockable fast travel campfire, meaning you do not have to waste copper building your own Fast Travel Bell. For convenience, their representatives can also be found at the central hub in Tortuga.

The People of Tortuga Faction

Tortuga is the economic heart of the game. You will naturally find this hub by following the "How My Sea Adventure Began" main questline.

Be incredibly careful on your way there. The quest log might classify this as a Level 1 objective, but the ocean surrounding Tortuga is routinely patrolled by Level 6 to Level 10 pirate vessels. If you just sail straight in on a basic starting rowboat, you will get blown to pieces. Ensure you understand how to repair and upgrade your ship before attempting the crossing. Once you dock safely, you will find the People of Tortuga merchants right in the center of the market square.
